FindLaw Launches Web's Most Comprehensive Court Forms Offering

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - (June 5, 2000) - FindLaw, the pioneer and leader of the online legal information and services industry, today unveiled the Internet's most comprehensive court forms offering (http://forms.findlaw.com/), where visitors can access nearly 8,000 forms from United States federal and state courts for free.

Finally, attorneys can find the court forms they need in their every day practice conveniently located in one easy-to-use site. FindLaw's new feature includes forms from federal appellate, district and bankruptcy courts, as well as numerous forms from state courts on topics ranging from adoption to divorce to civil harassment. Some of the forms available include civil and criminal subpoenas, summons, complaints, affidavits and schedules -- all of which are searchable by title or form number.

"By unveiling the Web's most complete online court forms section, FindLaw is taking the next step in creating a one-stop legal marketplace on the Web," said Michael Walsh, vice president of strategy for FindLaw. "It won't be long before attorneys will conduct a majority of their business online, from research, to selling and buying services, to interacting with co-workers, courts, clients and vendors."

Currently, all of the forms are available in PDF format, making them easy to use regardless of the word processing software used by the visitor. FindLaw will make a portion of the forms on its site interactive, allowing users both to complete the forms and print them out via the Web, all for free. FindLaw will continue to update the site by adding forms and making existing forms interactive.
