FindLaw Forms Relationship with IBM to Provide Special Advantages to Small Legal Firms

New Program Offers Discounts on Computers, Printers, Accessories, Software and Services

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jul. 22, 2002 – FindLaw, the Web's leading destination for information about the law, today announced a new benefit to FindLaw users: discounts on IBM hardware, software and services. The IBM relationship with FindLaw allows solo and small firm legal practitioners to take advantage of the same sorts of discounts normally reserved for larger firms and organizations buying in greater quantities.

FindLaw is a division of West, a Thomson (NYSE:TOC; TSX:TOC) business, the foremost provider of integrated information solutions to the U.S. legal market.

"As part of our continuing focus to help small businesses become e-businesses, we are pleased to be working with FindLaw to offer low prices on technology and services for small firms and solo practicing lawyers," said Greg Perleberg, IBM legal segment manager. "Through FindLaw's large online community of legal professionals, we can help lawyers take advantage of technology to create efficiencies and become more competitive."

A broad range of IBM's award-winning technology products are offered through the program, including ThinkPad laptop computers, NetVista desktops, software, printers, accessories and the latest in wireless technology. IBM's ThinkPad most recently was recognized by PC World as its "Best Buy" among ultra-thin notebooks. FindLaw users also can take advantage of discounts on IBM services, including onsite installation and maintenance. IBM will get new PC systems up and running - out of the box and logged on to the network - for as little as $90 per unit after the FindLaw discount.

"FindLaw is very excited about this relationship because IBM provides such a large selection of quality technology products," said Debbie Monroe, FindLaw general manager. "These discounts, in addition to FindLaw's substantial resources, will help the legal professionals that use FindLaw to stay competitive."

Through FindLaw's relationship with IBM, FindLaw users receive a 10 percent discount on all products offered through the program. For additional information, visit http://computerdeals.findlaw.com.
