The Chicago Bar Association, West and FindLaw Announce Partnership
EAGAN, Minn., and CHICAGO, June 26, 2003 The Chicago Bar Association (CBA), West and FindLaw today announced a free customizable Web portal, www.mychicagobar.org, to assist CBA members in accessing legal research resources, legal news, calendaring, dockets and practice forums.
The new Chicago Bar Association portal brings the power and convenience of a personalized desktop to law offices and firms of all sizes, enhancing productivity and cost-effective service, while strengthening the Chicago bar community. This unique, highly customizable tool includes recent case law summaries, a court forms finder, top legal news and links to state resources.
"The combined resources of West and FindLaw create a significant membership benefit for Chicago attorneys," said Terrence M. Murphy, executive director of the Chicago Bar Association. "The portal brings powerful new resources to our members, allowing them to be more informed and productive in their legal practices."
The new portal is the result of a partnership between the Chicago Bar Association; West, a Thomson business (NYSE:TOC; TSX:TOC) and the foremost provider of integrated information solutions to the U.S. legal market; and FindLaw, the highest-trafficked legal Web site.

Specific modules unique to the www.mychicagobar.org portal include links to information about committee meetings, West LegalEdcenter and online continuing legal education courses, and the association's special events calendar. The portal will also feature select video Webcasts of CBA Committee meetings by the end of the year.
The portal, designed to enhance the practice of law and strengthen the sense of community in the Chicago bar, underscores the important relationship between the Chicago Bar Association attorneys and West.
