FindLaw and washingtonpost.com Expand Alliance


ARLINGTON, Va. and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., August 27, 2003 – FindLaw, the most-visited legal Web site according to leading independent third-party Internet traffic monitoring services, and washingtonpost.com, an award-winning national news and information site, today announced an expansion of their alliance.

washingtonpost.com will expand its use of FindLaw's legal resources, featuring West Legal Directory®â as the exclusive lawyer directory for washingtonpost.com's Corporate Law Center (http://www.washingtonpost.com/corporatelawcenter). FindLaw is a business within The Thomson Corporation (TSX:TOC, NYSE: TOC), and is the online home of West Legal Directory.

West Legal Directory is the largest online lawyer directory, with more than one million lawyers and legal professionals, searchable by lawyer name, firm name, practice area and location. washingtonpost.com users will be able to search for counsel from the home page of the site's Corporate Law Center and throughout various sections of the site. Attorneys featured on the site will be able to have their profiles from West Legal Directory linked directly from washingtonpost.com for easy access.

FindLaw and washingtonpost.com have been working together since 1999. Through this alliance washingtonpost.com has provided its users with access to FindLaw's Internet legal resources such as FindLaw's Supreme Court Center, a resource center featuring U.S. Supreme Court briefs and opinions, and FindLaw Breaking Documents, primary legal documents related to major news stories.
