Study Reveals In-House Counsel at Fortune 100 Companies Turn to FindLaw's Corporate Counsel Center for Legal Information


EAGAN, Minn., June 24 -- FindLaw® today announced its Corporate Counsel Center has quickly grown to become a top source for online legal news and information among the nation's top in-house corporate counselors, according to a recent study. The FindLaw Corporate Counsel Center caters to the specific needs of in-house lawyers, offering cost-effective tools such as industry centers, news, research aids and the West Legal Directory® -- a powerful resource for researching lawyers and law firms. According to a recent study of visitors to the FindLaw Corporate Counsel Center (http://corporate.findlaw.com), the site is a consistently used source of legal information among corporate counsel. Recent Web traffic reports revealed a substantial and recurring usage by this audience, which includes law departments from 83 Fortune 100 companies. The study also indicated 48 percent of these in-house counselors represent companies with more than $1 billion in annual revenues. In addition, 83 percent of respondents reported that FindLaw plays a role in selecting outside counsel for their companies.

The study was conducted by FindLaw between April 29 and May 5, 2004 and surveyed a random sample of 1,000 users from the FindLaw Corporate Counsel Web site. Web traffic reports indicate the site received 61,000 unique visitors during that time. The study has a margin of error of approximately plus or minus three percentage points.
