Nate Clark Joins FindLaw as Vice President of International Business Development


EAGAN, Minn., Aug. 23, 2004 -- FindLaw®, the leading provider of client development services to the legal profession and a business within The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), today announced Nate Clark has been appointed to vice president, International Business Development. In his new role, Clark will drive FindLaw's global reach in the law firm marketing and client development services market.

FindLaw President and Chief Executive Officer Debbie Monroe said that the addition of Clark is a strong step for FindLaw. "Nate's diverse background and experience in international business development will be instrumental to FindLaw as we begin to execute the FindLaw business model across borders," she said.

In recent months, FindLaw has expanded its presence in the large law firm marketing space with the acquisition of Chicago-based Hubbard One, the leading provider of client development and marketing services to the AmLaw 200. FindLaw has also established a dedicated sales force, grown its customer care organization and realigned product development around professional and consumer channels. Additionally, its Mountain View, Calif., office continues to be a center of excellence in Web technology engineering, driving overall content and functionality for FindLaw.com.

Clark joins FindLaw from Thomson Legal & Regulatory, where he most recently served as vice president of International Sales & Marketing, responsible for developing Thomson Legal & Regulatory's cross-border sales initiative. Prior to that he was vice president, Business Development, Thomson Legal & Regulatory, where he helped build the market group's international presence within Latin America. Clark also has served as vice president, Global Strategy and Business Development at Thomson & Thomson in Quincy, Mass. Before joining The Thomson Corporation in 1998, Clark was president of Trademark Research Corporation in the Legal Information Services (LIS) division of CCH, a supplier of trademark information to lawyers and corporations.

Clark received both a bachelor's and a master's degree in English from Brigham Young University, holds advanced degrees from Lincoln College and Middlebury College and has completed doctoral work at Emory University.
