Thomson FindLaw to Host Law Firm Business Development Seminar
First-ever event to focus entirely on marketing and business development for small and medium-sized law firms
EAGAN, Minn., Oct. 1, 2004 -- Finding new business is a challenge for law firms of all sizes. Small and medium law firms without the advantage of a dedicated staff to bring in new business are turning to the Web to attract new clients. Attorneys and law firms focused on building their consumer client base will learn how to utilize cutting-edge marketing tools, techniques and programs at the Thomson FindLaw Business Development Conference for Small and Medium Law Firms. This first-of-its-kind legal business development conference will take place on Oct. 29 and 30 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Thomson FindLaw is the leading provider of client development services to the legal profession and a business within The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC).
According to the PEW Internet and American Life Project, more than 60 percent of Americans are now online. Debbie Monroe, Thomson FindLaw president and CEO, stresses that Web marketing tools play an increasingly important role in law firms' traditional marketing mix. "It's critical that law firms become more knowledgeable about these sophisticated marketing technologies and techniques and put them to work to meet their business development objectives," said Monroe.
During the two-day conference attendees will be able to learn from law firms that are successfully generating new business from the Web as they share techniques and best practices on how to leverage the power of the Web to market their firms and attract clients. The seminar is produced by Glasser LegalWorks, a Thomson FindLaw business, and sponsored by Overture, a Yahoo! company, and America Online. Glasser LegalWorks organizes more than 100 continuing education events annually, including the Marketing Partner Forum for large law firms.
