Kent Zimmermann Named President, Glasser LegalWorks

LITTLE FALLS, N.J., Nov. 9, 2004 -- Glasser LegalWorks, the premier producer of legal and law practice seminars, events and publications and a business within The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), today announced that Kent Zimmermann has been appointed president. In this role, Zimmermann will direct corporate strategy and work closely with his management team to oversee daily operations and drive the business forward as it continues to deliver world-class programs and seminars covering the latest issues on substantive legal topics to management in law firms and corporate law departments. Glasser LegalWorks is part of the Thomson FindLaw portfolio of law firm marketing and client development brands.

Zimmermann joins Glasser LegalWorks from Hubbard One where he served as vice president and general counsel and helped the business become one of the fastest growing technology companies in North America. While at Hubbard One, he oversaw all aspects of its legal, government, industry and community affairs, and was its chief compliance officer. He also led Hubbard One's corporate business development efforts, including management of its strategic partnerships and network of industry relationships.

Debbie Monroe, president and CEO of Thomson FindLaw, noted that Zimmermann brings to the company the high-touch customer service for which Hubbard One is well known. "Kent Zimmermann is the perfect person to take Glasser LegalWorks to the next level," said Monroe. "His extensive work with the leadership of prominent law firms over the years and his experience as general counsel and a former chapter board member of the Association of Corporate Counsel will allow Glasser LegalWorks to build and enhance its offerings."

Zimmermann plans to dramatically enhance the company's offerings to keep pace with demand in the market, accelerating the company's introduction of new offerings in the United States while also continuing to penetrate the U.K. market. Zimmermann has already begun working with chief marketing officers from the world's top law firms to center Glasser LegalWorks' offerings around the expectations of its customers. Zimmermann's appointment also will support Thomson FindLaw's efforts and momentum in the market and accelerate closer alignment with all Thomson FindLaw brands and businesses.

Founders Stephen and Lynn Glasser, who sold Glasser LegalWorks to The Thomson Corporation in January of 2004, are stepping back from the day-to-day operations and will become chairmen emeritus, focusing on providing key consultative guidance to the business.

Monroe acknowledged the Glassers for their many contributions that have enhanced the standing of Thomson FindLaw as the premier provider of expert marketing solutions to large law firms. "We are deeply grateful to Stephen and Lynn Glasser. Under their leadership, Glasser LegalWorks has become the highest quality resource for learning about issues related to both the practice and business of law," said Monroe.
